"Consider "Power Balladz" to be the niche version of "Rock of Ages." Rather than strewing the stage with the corpses of '80s rock, creators Dan Nycklemoe, Mike Todaro, and Peter Rothstein have taken a more exclusionary approach, allowing only those songs they have deemed to be true power ballads. "Power Balladz" is more entertaining than that other jukebox rock musical playing a few blocks away."

"Great musicians, big throated singers, soaring guitars and an excellent band. A celebration. A cheerful homage to rock. A chance to indulge your inner glam."

"Be prepared to be swayed into believing that the Juke Box Musical isn’t dead. It is alive and flourishing at The Midtown Theater where POWER BALLADZ is rocking the rafters with three amazing performers with incredible voices and enough energy to power the East and West Coast."

"“Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Wanted Dead Or Alive,” “Sister Christian”—all in the first 15 minutes—if you are not brought back to the good ol’ days of 25 years past, than you are most certainly not breathing! From the first song to the closing audience-karaoke rendition of “Mustang Sally” the fans were in love. In love with the memories, the moments, the singers on stage, the total rock experience."

"Being a die-hard musical theatre fan made me initially skeptical of this new trend of interactive off-Broadway shows. I found myself wondering what they had to offer, if I'd have a good time, and what brought this to the forefront of the off-Broadway scene. Sitting down at a table reserved for us, surrounded by mist from the fog machines on stage and the waitresses serving drinks, I didn't know what to expect. What I should have thought to myself was, "This is going to be a really fun night," because it was."

"Grab a beer (or three), kick back and belt out your fave anthem with loud guitars. And then there's the best thing a show (or any experience) can promise: You'll probably get laid if you have the balls to get up on stage after the show is over and participate in the live-band karaoke. And that is just about always worth the price of admission."

"POWER BALLADZ is fun. The 90-minute rock cabaret celebrates the music of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s offered by bands such as Queen, Bon Jovi, Guns ‘N’ Roses, Journey, Styx and more. I only knew snippets of the songs, and yet I still had a blast! This is mainly due to the high energy of Dieter Bierbrauer, Scott Richard Foster, and Mary Mossberg. Scott (I’m using first names because I feel like I know these guys) is so in sync with the music that you are sure he must be plugged in along with the speakers, and Dieter’s dimple lets you know that you are in for some devilish fun. Mary delivers delightful surprises throughout the show. And did I mention that all three sing their faces off?"

"While there's a lot of good-natured silliness in Power Balladz, the three charismatic, strong-singing leads and the on-stage musicians (Conductor Karen Dryer on keyboard, Jason Bozzi and Sean Driscoll on guitar, Mark Vanderpoel on bass and Brad Carbone on drums) play it straight for the songs; performing with straightforward passion for the genre."
